I'd Like to Volunteer for a Paid Medical Study. What do I do next?

Apply Now

1. Getting in Touch

The first step in becoming a volunteer is to speak with one of our recruiters. They will ask for some information about your lifestyle and medical history, and help to decide whether our clinical trials are right for you. When you are happy to go ahead, we will help to match you up with a study that works for you.

To speak with our recruitment team, you can give us a call on 0113 3945 200 from a mobile or 0800 591 570 from a landline phone. Alternatively, fill in this short form and one of our recruiters will call you back–you’ll usually hear from us within a few days.

2. Your Screening Appointment

Before you are accepted onto a study, you will need to come to our Leeds clinic for a medical screening appointment – like a full MOT for your health.

We use the information we gather at screening to make sure that the study you’ve chosen is the right one for you. We’ll also guide you through everything that will happen on the study in detail, to make sure you are happy to go ahead. It’s okay to change your mind at any time!

Covance will also help towards your travel and parking expenses for coming to screening.

3. The Green Light

Once we’ve got all the results from your screening appointment, we’ll give you a call to let you know whether you’ve made it onto the study. If not, don’t worry. Even for our healthiest volunteers, something as simple as a recent injection can affect a clinical trial. Sometimes, we simply have too many volunteers who are suitable for a study – so if it’s a no this time, you can always try again.

If you’ve been successful, we will tell you when you’re checking in to the clinic and give you a list of foods and exercises to avoid. Then you’re all ready to start doing something amazing!
