Things to Remember and What to Bring
Each study has its own requirements. Here are some general tips to prepare for your screening visit.
The Leeds Recruitment team will have talked through anything you need to know beforehand and will send you all the documentation you need.
But in case you need a quick refresher, or just want to know more about what happens when visiting the clinic, here is a checklist of dos and don’ts.
BEFORE COMING IN FOR A SCREENING APPOINTMENT PLEASE ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING:
Avoid alcohol, poppy seeds and grapefruit for 48 hours beforehand* as these can effect the test results.
Avoid any strenuous exercise like weight lifting or running a week beforehand* as this can affect the test results.
Avoid food and drink only water (usually about 6 hours*) prior your appointment. This means you will need to avoid caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea, coke and energy drinks for 6 hours before your appointment.
Photographic proof of identity, either your current passport or driving license. If you do not have a passport or driving license you will need to get your GP to complete a form to confirm your identification. Please call the recruitment team or drop by the clinic to pick up one.
Your National Insurance Number (NI number) if you have not provided this to the recruitment team already.
This is located on any payslips, some council documentation or voting cards.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR APPOINTMENT, WHAT TO BRING OR NEED TO RE-ARRANGE THE TIME OR CANCEL, PLEASE CALL OUR RECRUITMENT TEAM ON 0800 591 570 OR 0113 394 5200.
